The international influence of the highly esteemed Photography Department of the RCA is reflected in the polyphony of practices generated.

Diverse in content and method,Hardcover, brings to the fore the current practices of a new generation of artists working within photography and the moving image. The book contains essays by leading academics and curators working in the field, such as Tate Curator Simon Baker and Olivier Richon, is edited by internationally acclaimed photographer Rut Blees Luxemburg and has been designed by a group of young designers from the RCA.

About the Author

Simon Baker is the Tate gallery's first Curator of Photography and International Art. He has published on surrealism, photography and contemporary art, and curated the exhibitions Undercover Surrealism (Hayward, 2006) and Exposed: Voyeurism, Surveillance and the Camera.

Olivier Richon is Professor of Photography at the Royal College of Art, London.

Rut Blees Luxemburg is an internationally renowned photographer, Tutor at the Royal College of Art and has previously published Commonsensual with Black Dog Publishing.
